MTN SA DHI CUP # 1: VENUE AND COURSE CHANGE
Supplied by Richard Durrant
It is with regret that we advise that the venue for the Gauteng National Cup Downhill has changed due to land access problems. The original course was well on its way to completion when one of the landowners, through whose land the course traversed, withdraw his permission! A venue for an alternative course has however been secured with full support from the land owner, who is assisting with labour and equipment to build this brand new course. Unfortunately the new venue is some 65 km from the original venue in Krugersdorp and 100 km from the cross country venue - but there was no alternate if we were to provide a national standard downhill course of this event. The course is still being built and approximate length and ride time will be provided soonest. ...

The SA-Seeding Number Board System
Supplied by SA Seeding
SA-Seeding (SAS) is an exciting new race administration system, with the aim of improving the standard of cycling events (especially mountain biking). When a cyclist purchases a SAS Number Board, SAS will assign a new unique number (ID) to that person, if they do not already have a ROAG number. This number will also become a rider's race number and will be "a number for life" which will be used in close to a 100 mountain bike events around South Africa. Because the board has a built in chip, SAS can manage a database of riders and will gather results which it will use to create a seeding system (SA Seeding). This Seeding system can be used by race organisers (free of charge) to seed riders into smaller batches which will eliminate congestion and providing riders with a more enjoyable and safer riding experience....
